I stood on a sidewalk
along Martin Luther King, Jr Way
with my back against a street sign:
'Welcome to Berkeley'
The sign post painted a shadow
against the wall of a building.
I took a photo,
my left foot in Berkeley,
my right in Oakland
and then walked on.
